Airbus Defence and Space trials new deployable comms
Airbus Defence and Space (D&S) has trialled its Deployable Communication Information System (DCIS) in Poland at the Joint Forces Training Centre in Bydgoszcz in Poland, it was revealed on 25 November.
‘The trials were successful – the DCIS, which is intended to be deployable within 72 hours, was actually deployed within 12 hours,’ said Steve Whitby, DCIS project lead, who has been working on DCIS since 2009.
‘The video operability feature was also a hit. Before it was difficult for NATO brigades to carry out ad hoc video conferences – DCIS allows this.’
