Paris Air Show 2013: New UAV heads out
Piaggio Aero Industries used the Paris Air Show to unveil its new Pi.1HH Hammerhead MALE UAV.
Launched on 18 June, the demonstrator took under a year to develop and has completed low speed taxi trials as part of a testing campaign that is currently underway, through which the Italian Air Force is cooperating on certifying the Hammerhead. It is understood that Italy has ordered ten of the platfoms.
On 14 February the first engine start and taxi test took place at an Italian air force base, and the programme has now entered the final phase of testing where all systems
