Paris Air Show 2013: French connection remains for Heron TP

Despite the French government confirming the purchase of two GA-ASI MQ-9 Reaper UAVs at the end of May to fill its MALE UAV requirement, IAI is still confident about selling its Heron TP UAV to France.

The Reapers are set to replace the Harfang MALE UAV, a system developed by EADS but based on the IAI Heron 1 UAV.

The Heron TP is the newest variant of the aircraft, which IAI hopes will appeal to the French MoD, Jacques Chemla, director of business development for the military aircraft group at IAI Malat, told Shephard at the Paris Air Show on
