Paris Air Show: UK leads the way in synthetic wrap

Following the award of a $35 million Area Weapons Effects Simulation (AWES) upgrade contract to Cubic Global Defense earlier this year by the UK MOD, details have now emerged about how the company has enhanced AWES to provide additional training opportunities.

Using what the company refers to as a synthetic wrap, Cubic has integrated virtual training capabilities into its live laser-based tactical engagement training AWES sites on Salisbury Plain, UK and Suffield in Canada.
