Motion systems manufacturer D-Box teamed up with Rockwell Collins at this year’s I/ITSEC to present a low-cost, high-fidelity helicopter simulator that was developed in just six weeks.
The simulator on display utilises Rockwell Collins’ CORE open simulation architecture, which has been in development for around seven years, linked with a basic helicopter cockpit on D-Box’s motion system.
With use of the motion simulator, the trainee can experience the bank and pitch of the aircraft, as well as vibrations from the rotorblades.
