Australia looks ahead to fifth-generation air mission training

Australia is seeking industry engagement as it looks for a new Air Mission Training System (AMTS) to support its pilot training programme for fifth-generation aircraft.

The Capability Acquisition and Sustainment Group (CASG) in the Department of Defence released an RfI on 8 September.

Under Project Air 5428 Phase 3, the RAAF wants to acquire and transition to a future AMTS for specialist non-pilot air force officer aviation (mission) training at its Air Academy in East Sale, ready for operational conversion for the Australian Defence Force (ADF) out to 2040.
