Ukraine strengthens its naval power
Ukraine continues to invest in its naval fleet development by taking delivery of new vessels while also planning the purchase of additional platforms.
The first Project 58503 Kentavr fast military assault craft was launched on at Kuznya na Rybalskom yard, Kiev, on 14 September.
The vessel, designed in 2015 by IPTsK company in Nikolayev, incorporates lessons learned during the armed conflict in Eastern Ukraine which highlighted the need for fast, armour-protected ships for littoral operations.
The Kentavr’s displacement is 47t, length 24.3m, draught 1m and its maximum speed is 50kts. It has five-member crew and can transport up to 32
