IMDEX Asia 2019: Bangladesh receives final two corvettes from China

Two C13B Shadhinota-class corvettes, a platform based on the Type 056 used by the People’s Liberation Army Navy (PLAN), arrived at the Chittagong Naval Area in Bangladesh on 27 April. The ships were built by the Wuchang Shipbuilding Industry Group in China.

Named BNS Prottasha (F114) and BNS Shongram (F113), the 1,330t warships had been handed over to the Bangladesh Navy (BN) in China on 3 April. After making a stopover in Malaysia on their journey home, they were welcomed by RAdm Abu Ashraf, the Chittagong Naval Area commander.
