AdvanFort accuses SAMI of inaction
Private maritime security company (PMSC) AdvanFort has announced that it will withdraw from the Security Association for the Maritime Industries (SAMI) with intentions to establish an alternative US maritime association.
In a statement on 2 April, the company said that when they needed assistance to help secure the release of 35 of their guards in India, who had been arrested, their calls and emails ‘went unanswered’. The company has revealed that it is already in discussions with other PMSCs to form a new body.
