Vietnam orders T-90 tanks from Russia
Vietnam has ordered 64 T-90S/SK main battle tanks (MBT) from Russia, the culmination of months of speculation as the Vietnam People’s Army (VPA) sought to upgrade its tank fleet.
The acquisition, estimated at about $250 million, will be funded via credit extended by Russia. The first deliveries are expected this year, according to a TASS report.
State-run news organisations in Vietnam confirmed the news on 21 July, quoting Russian defence officials present at the MAKS air show in Moscow.
