US Army cancels OMFV solicitation
The US Army has terminated the current acquisition process of the Optionally Manned Fighting Vehicle (OMFV), after only one bid was received in the competition to replace the Bradley Fighting Vehicle.
On 16 January the army announced the decision, stating that it intended to revisit the programme’s requirements, acquisition strategy and schedule to re-solicit the OMFV on a competitive basis. This process will be based on feedback and proposals received from the industry.
The Assistant Secretary of the Army for Acquisition, Logistics and Technology Bruce Jette emphasised the OMFV programme keeps being a priority for the US Army, stating
