Uralvagonzavod and Renault present new IFV
A new wheeled 8x8 Infantry Fighting Vehicle has been launched by Russia’s Uralvagonzavod and France’s Renault Truck Defence (RTD).
Known as Atom, the vehicle was on display at the Kadex 2014 exhibition held in Kazakhstan.
The new vehicle based on the French VBCI and is equipped with a combat module that includes the AU-220M 57mm cannon. The gun has a high rate of fire and shooting accuracy on the length up to 16 km. It is designed to hit both ground and air targets.
Atom is also equipped with NBC equipment, an active protection system and a laser warning system.
