Upgraded Arjun MBT begins user trials
A fully-upgraded model of India's indigenously-designed Arjun Mk2 main battle tank (MBT) began its final round of user trials in August.
The trials in the western Rajasthan desert region took place in anticipation of the Indian Army ordering some 250 of the retrofitted platforms.
Officials said the field trials feature one ‘fully integrated’ Arjun Mk2 that included 73 of 93 proposed ‘improvements’ compared to the Arjun Mk1.
The upgraded platform joins one partially retrofitted Arjun Mk2, which has been undergoing field trials in Rajasthan for several months.
