UK re-starts long-range jungle recce course

The British Army has completed a four-week long pilot long range reconnaissance patrol course (LRRPC) in the jungles of Brunei after a hiatus of more than a decade.

As part of its move to contingency the British Army wants to ensure that its infantry sections have jungle experience and an understanding of how to operate in this complex terrain that is dangerous and restrictive for fighting forces. It is unlike the desert landscape of operations of the past decade.

A decision is to be taken shortly about whether to introduce the course full time and it will be carried out
