UK MoD announces additional armoured vehicle UORs
British forces operating in Afghanistan will receive additional armoured vehicles as part of an urgent operational requirement (UOR), the UK’s Minister for Defence Equipment, Support and Technology announced at the Defence Vehicles Dynamics (DVD) exhibition.
Speaking in Millbrook on 23 June, Peter Luff told delegates that the Ministry of Defence (MoD) had contracted the Supacat-Babcock industry alliance to supply an additional 140 Jackal weapons-mounted 4x4 patrol vehicles as well as 28 Force Protection Wolfhound heavy tactical support vehicles.
