Turkey firms Russian S-400 contract
The much-discussed sale of the S-400 Triumf (SA-21 Growler) long-range SAM system to Turkey has been officially contracted.
The signing - acknowledged by the FSVTS, Russia’s arms export control body - means that Turkey becomes the second export customer for the advanced system after China.
'The parties reached an agreement and signed a contract. This is a rather sensitive issue, however, and at this stage we cannot disclose any details. The buyer has the priority right to comment the contract details. We can emphasise that this sale meets the geopolitical interests of the Russian Federation,' stated a FSVTS representative quoted
