Terminator is back
A new version of the tank support fighting vehicle (BMPT-72) Terminator-2 was officially presented at the Russia Arms Expo in Nizhny Tagil.
The new vehicle is based on T-72, a Soviet second-generation main battle tank, produced by Uralvagonzavod (UVZ).
Terminator-2 is designed to combat armour threats and provide protection from helicopters and low-flying aircraft.
It has a combat weight of 44 tons and comprises a crew of three (a reduction from five in an earlier variant).
Armaments include two stabilized 2A42 30mm cannon, allowing firing on the move, paired with a coaxial 7.62-mm machine gun and two 30mm AG-17D stabilized
