Taiwan orders 30mm cannons for IFV
Taiwan has ordered a total of 285 30mm cannons from Orbital ATK to be installed on an IFV variant of the domestically manufactured Cloud Leopard 8x8 armoured vehicle.
The NTD3.4 billion ($112 million) contract announced by Taiwan’s Ministry of National Defense (MND) on 29 September is for the Mk44 Bushmaster II 30mm cannon.
MND officials said the first guns would begin arriving in Taiwan soon, with the National Chung-Shan Institute of Science and Technology (NCSIST) responsible for fitting cannon-mounted turrets onto Cloud Leopard hulls.
