Stealthy moves for bike development
The Pentagon has awarded a development contract to Logos Technologies to manufacture a prototype silent-running hybrid-electric military motorcycle.
According to the company, the US Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) awarded the small business innovation research (SBIR) grant in February to develop a stealthy system, although a spokesperson told Shephard that the value could not be divulged for competitive reasons.
Logos Technologies will manufacture the multifuel hybrid-electric power system and is partnered with motorcycle manufacturer BRD, which is providing its BRD Redshift MX bike as a platform.
