Singapore Army unveils new vehicles
Ahead of Singapore’s Golden Jubilee celebration parade on 9 August, the Singapore Army is replacing some of its ageing equipment.
It wants to take the 1960s-vintage Cadillac Gage V-200 vehicle out of service, which has been in Singapore’s inventory since 1969, and also the M728 Combat Engineer Vehicle.
Therefore the Singapore Army has unveiled a new MRAP from Renault, the 6x6 Higuard to replace the Cadillacs. It has also displayed a RUAG/Rheinmetall AEV-3 Kodiak armoured engineer vehicle to succeed the M728.
The Higuard, known locally as the Protected Response Vehicle (PRV), was seen with a CIS .50-cal heavy machine gun
