Singapore Army commissions Hunter AFV
The Singapore Army commissioned the Hunter AFV on 11 June as part of the armour formation’s 50th anniversary. Previously known as the Next-Generation Armoured Fighting Vehicle, the Hunter is a 13-year project by the Defence Science and Technology Agency and ST Engineering.
Unveiled in 2017, the final Hunter prototype featured a 30mm ST Engineering Adder M30 RWS with 30mm cannon. However, Singapore opted for the Rafael Samson 30 RWS for the production model.
This slightly modified Samson turret features a Mk44 Bushmaster II 30mm cannon, with dual feed for 230 high-explosive and armour-piercing rounds, a 7.62mm coaxial machine gun
