Saab receives training artillery ammunition order
Saab announced an order from an unnamed customer for explosive training artillery ammunition worth approximately $13.73 million on 19 May, with delivery due in 2015-2016.
Saab Bofors Dynamics Switzerland (SBDS), a Saab subsidiary, will perform the work on this order, including the manufacturing and delivery of explosive training artillery grenades. The work includes the conversion of live rounds into training rounds. SBDS will perform the technical alternation, filling of the target marking and explosive components, and the final assembly.
Görgen Johansson, head of dynamics, Saab, said: 'This order is an endorsement of Saab's world-class munitions facility in Switzerland, which provides products and services for business partners and armed forces around the world.'
Stephan Kocher, head of SBDS, said: 'This order is completely in line with our strategy to strengthen and extend our range of services. We have a well-proven track record of fulfilling a wide range of national and international service contracts within the field of munitions, the respective components and explosives.'
