Saab receives RBS 70 NG contract
Saab has received a $44 million contract for the delivery of RBS 70 NG very short range air defence (VSHORAD) systems to an unnamed customer, the company announced on 21 September.
The contract includes the supply, maintenance and support of the RBS 70 NG. Deliveries are scheduled to take place between 2018 and 2020, followed by long-term maintenance and support of the systems.
The RBS 70 NG features the new generation sight module with integrated high-resolution thermal imager that allows for an all-target capability both day and night. The system also has an advanced cueing which improves reaction times and target acquisition.
