Russian army to receive Bulat 6x6 APCs
The Russian MoD is buying up to 50 Bulat SBA-60-K2 APCs with 15 to be delivered by the end of 2015.
The new Bulats are built on the chassis of KAMAZ 5350 Mustang, a serial military truck which used by the Russian army since 2002.
The new Bulat variant was designed by Zashita corporation, one of Russia’s largest armoured vehicle producers.
A spokesperson said Bulat could be considered as a successor to BTR-152, the non-amphibious Soviet-era wheeled APC that entered service in 1950 and retired in 1993.
