Russia sells tanks to Sudan
A contract covering the sale of 170 second-hand T-72 MBTs has been signed between Russia and Sudan.
The news has been revealed by Russian authoritative daily Izvestiya which cited sources from the defence industry who have preferred to remain unnamed. The tanks will be taken from the surplus stocks of the Russian Land Forces.
According to the information obtained by the Russian newspaper, the contract negotiations began last year, while the final agreement has been reached this September, during the Army 2016 arms exhibition held at Kubinka near Moscow in early September. The contract price has not been disclosed.
