Russia plans 70% land modernisation by 2020
Russia intends to buy more than 5,000 new combat vehicles and will upgrade 6,000 vehicles as part of a programme to modernize its forces.
Oleg Salyukov, Colonel General and Chief of Russia’s Land Forces has stated that he wants 70% of Russian land forces to be equipped with modern weapons by 2020.
According to Salyukov about 14,000 combat cars will also be procured over the next six years.
