Russia rolls out the big guns
Two new weapons platforms sporting a powerful 57mm turret were unveiled to the public for the first time at Army-2018 defence exhibition held in Kubinka near Moscow this week, with both being positioned for domestic and export sales.
The first such platform outfitted with the 57mm turret was the heavy tracked T-15 IFV.
Until now, the T-15 - based on the T-14 Armata developed by Uralvagonzavod (UVZ) company - has only been seen with the Bumerang-BM turret integrating a 2A42 30mm gun in addition to a PKT 7.62mm machine gun and four Kornet ATGMs.
