New AM General owners will not alter HMMWV contracts for US Army

The prospective new owners of AM General, the supplier of High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicle (HMMWV), have shed little light on the possibility of changes in the contracts between the company and the US Army, although the service insists that agreements already signed must be honoured to the letter.

KPS Capital Partners announced the acquisition of AM General in late July, without disclosing the financial terms of the deal.

A spokesperson for the US Army Programme Executive Office (PEO) confirmed to Shephard that HMMWV production rates and contracts with AM General will not be affected by the change in ownership,
