Test on Sabre showcases MMP fire and forget capability
MBDA has successfully completed the first test firing of its Medium Range Missile (MMP) aboard the Arquus Sabre SF vehicle.
Conducted in December 2020 with the support of the French Army and defence procurement agency DGA at Canjuers Military Camp, the event saw a vehicle-mounted MMP launcher engaging an MBT (pictured) at a range of about 3.5km.
The Sabre SF vehicle is the export variant of the Arquus PLFS heavy special forces vehicle, which was ordered by French Special Operations Command (COS) in 2016. However, initial variants were rejected by the DGA following roadworthiness issues with Arquus being forced to upgrade
