Philippines inducts ATVs and continues army modernisation
The Philippine Army has received new all-terrain vehicles (ATV), fulfilling a requirement delineated last year for 15 such vehicles under the military’s Horizon 2 modernisation programme.
The Department of National Defense (DND) paid PHP31.7 million ($666,000) for this competitive tender won by a JV comprising Scan Marine and Aces Marine Links Industrial Corporation.
The 4x4 vehicle duly selected was a petrol-engined variant of the Can-Am Commander Max built in North America. Scan Marine is the local distributor for Can-Am ATVs in the Philippines.
