Battlefield of the future will demand multi-domain amphibious troops
In order to face the threats of the battlefield of the future, amphibious forces are focusing on equipping their troops with multi-domain capabilities.
During the ‘Future Amphibious Forces Online' webinar, conducted by Defence IQ on 1 December, military commanders and defence experts highlighted the relevance of aviation, cyber capabilities, communication and detection systems, hybrid technologies and precision fires.
Lt Gen (ret) Sir David Capewell, former UK Chief of Joint Operations, said that amphibious forces must be prepared to 'navigate a more complex and more volatile operational space’ in the future.
