Argentina moves forward with negotiations to acquire armoured vehicles
The Argentinian MoD is making progress towards procuring new wheeled armoured vehicles for the army, after recent negotiations between defence minister Agustin Rossi and Brazilian and Chinese officials.
Aiming to work out on the purchase of the Norinco 8x8 VN1platforms, Rossi held a virtual meeting with the Chinese ambassador to Argentina, Zou Xiaoli, on 18 January.
Xiaoli claimed that Norinco is making modifications to its initial proposal, although he did not disclose details about these changes.
‘We will study and analyse it with the other offers we have received,’ Rossi stressed.
