Peru receives Chinese missile launchers
The Peruvian Army has increased its long range fire support capability after taking delivery of new Chinese-built multiple rocket launchers (MRLs) on 18 July.
These are the latest systems procured by Peru from China and they build on a relationship first established with an equipment order in 2009. The materiel acquisition is part of a military modernisation effort that has been going on for the past few years.
This latest delivery of 27 NORINCO Type 90B 122mm MRLs is the result of a $42 million deal signed in December 2013 that aim to equip three new Peruvian Army artillery groups.
