US Army orders gunner display systems
Palomar Display Products has received a $40.7 million contract add-on modification to deliver gunner display systems for the US Army’s M1 Abrams tank, the company announced on 3 April.
The modification brings the total value of the contract to more than $78 million.
The optically coupled display systems have been designed, tested and qualified by Palomar Display Products.
Paul Bell, president at Palomar Display Products, said: ‘The recurring demand of our gunner displays for the most advanced combat vehicle in the world reinforces Palomar’s deep rooted position as the principal supplier of thermal sight displays for the US and International armoured vehicle market.
‘Moreover, this contract modification reiterates the importance of our decades long service and support we have been providing to our war fighting customers and user community worldwide.’
