Orbital ATK receives PGK contract mod
Orbital ATK has received a $146 million contract modification from the US Department of Defense (DoD) that extends precision guidance kit (PGK) production for 155mm artillery projectiles through April 2021.
The company is currently executing a second production option after successfully completing the first production option from its base contract awarded in February 2018.
The PGK replaces conventional artillery projectile fuzes and requires no additional modifications to existing 155mm projectile inventories. It provides greater precision and reduces the potential for collateral damage.
Work on this contract is expected to be complete by 30 April 2021.
