EDEX 2018: Oerlikon Revolver Gun Mk3 makes an impression
Switzerland’s Rheinmetall Air Defence displayed its Oerlikon Revolver Gun Mk3 at EDEX, attracting attention from visitors.
The remotely controlled autonomous network-capable air defence system comprises a single-barrel gun, low weight, 35mm automatic cannon with integrated tracking radar and an electro-optical sensor unit.
Delivering compelling high precision firepower is its main role according to Oerlikon. Coupled with Rheinmetall’s proprietary AHEAD airburst technology, the weapon is extremely effective against practically all air and ground targets.
This capability enables swift, autonomous engagement according to Rheinmetall.
