New Warrior turret completes on-the-move firing
The new turret developed by Lockheed Martin UK for the upgrade to the British Army’s Warrior IFV has completed its first on-the-move firing tests.
LM UK announced the milestone on 20 April and a spokesperson told Shephard that the fire on the move development trials had taken place over the previous four months as part of the Warrior Capability Sustainment Programme (WCSP).
The new turret mounts the CT40 cannon and according to the company during the recent tests it fired two ammunition natures at target distances of about 350m, 650m, 900, 1,300m and 1,500m.
