New Russian self-propelled gun incoming
Russia is developing a new prototype 152mm self-propelled gun that is set to provide more firepower for airborne forces.
The Russian Central Research Institute of Precision Engineering (RCRIPE), which is designing the gun, has called the new prototype platform Lotus.
According to Dmitry Semizorov, General Director of the Institute, design and tests on the gun will be completed by the end of the 2017, after which mass production will be started. The gun system could be built at RCRIPE as it has some manufacturing plants under its jurisdiction that are located in the Russian Urals and Siberia.
