New VAB vehicle variant qualifies
A new engineer variant of the VAB (Véhicule de l’avant blindé) Ultima APC for the French Army has passed qualification.
This variant called the ‘Génie’ is on schedule to be delivered to the French Army in full by early next year, French officials have confirmed to Shephard.
The French procurement agency, Direction générale de l’armement (DGA), announced in October it had completed the qualification process for the Génie variant of the modernised VAB Ultima, the latest iteration of the battle-proven 4x4 armoured vehicle made by Renault Trucks Defense (RTD).
