New AMPV RFP updates development schedule
A final RfP has been released for the US Army’s Armored Multi-Purpose Vehicle (AMPV) requirement keeping the programme alive amid budgetary concerns.
The US Army’s TACOM procurement agency released the RfP on 26 November which laid out the latest requirements and funding levels for the programme that aims to replace the M113 family of vehicles.
An Engineering, Manufacturing and Development (EMD) phase is expected to last 54 months between FY2015-19.
The EMD contract award is expected in the first quarter of 2015 and funding for each year comprises: $70 million for FY15; $174 million in FY16; $114 million for FY17;
