Nammo receives M141 BDM order
Nammo Talley has received a delivery order to produce M141 Bunker Defeat Munition (BDM) for the US Army, the company announced on 14 October.
The order falls under an existing indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity (IDIQ) contract, with delivery scheduled for December 2016. The estimated value of the contract should not exceed $567 million depending on the total quantity of rounds supplied.
The M141 BDM is a direct-fire, man-portable infantry assault weapon comprised of a disposable launcher and an 83mm high explosive dual purpose round.
Scott Selle, executive vice president, Nammo Talley, said: ‘Nammo Talley is proud to continue the M141 BDM programme with our nineteenth delivery order on this contract. We’ll work relentlessly to exceed the army’s expectations for quality, on-time delivery and safe manufacturing processes.’
