Moog demos M230LF cannon on RIWP
Moog has carried out a live fire demonstration of a 30mm direct fire cannon on the Reconfigurable Integrated-Weapons Platform (RIWP), the company announced on 14 December.
The demonstration was carried out with industry partners DRS Technologies and Orbital ATK at the Red Cloud Range, Fort Benning, GA.
The live fire exercise featured the RIWP configured with a TOW missile launcher, M230LF 30mm cannon, and a US Army production Improved Bradley Acquisition Subsystem sight. The M230LF cannon fired multiple rounds at 400, 700 and 1500 meters, with all rounds hitting their intended targets.
RIWP is a remote weapon platform that is compatible with a variety of weapons including missiles, direct fire, and non-lethal deterrents. For this demonstration it was integrated on an Oshkosh Mine-Resistant Ambush Protected All-Terrain Vehicle.
