Mexican security and defence vehicles converge
In Mexico there is a need for more armoured vehicles for the military, police and private security sector.
This is a direct consequence of the degraded domestic security situation. To meet this requirement the defence and security vehicle industry has developed rapidly over recent years but the platforms used by military and police overlap somewhat due to similar operational requirements.
Whilst there are obvious cost benefits from using similar platforms across military and civil law and order vehicle fleets, there are some serious drawbacks.
This was evident with the three new vehicle models that were displayed by the National Association
