MDM 2018: BAE Systems looks to expand ACV variants
Following the June 2018 contract award for 208 Amphibious Combat Vehicle (ACV) 1.1 personnel variants, BAE Systems has been moving toward production while simultaneously working to anticipate the needs of future ACV variant systems.
‘We’re in production right now on the “P” [personnel] variants’, offered Garrett Lacaillade, ACV program lead at BAE Systems. ‘We will actually start welding the first hull next week and the goal is to be delivering the first several vehicles by the middle of next year.
‘What we’re trying to do this year at Modern Day Marine is leverage that faith and trust for our baseline
