Lviv Armoured Plant hands over upgraded tanks to Ukraine

Ukroboronprom subsidiary Lviv Armoured Plant (LBWZ) has transferred five upgraded T-64 and T-72 tanks to the Ukrainian military.
‘The works were carried out ahead of schedule and under conditions of limited funding,’ Ukroboronprom announced on 7 April, although LBWZ director Viktor Androshchuk said that the factory ‘exceeded the production plan by more than UAH20 million [$720,000]’ in Q1 2021.
LBWZ transferred ten combat vehicles to the Ukrainian MoD earlier this year.
The modernised T-64s and T-72s are equipped with modern fire control systems, internal and external communication and communication, day and night vision devices, rear view cameras, satellite navigation and dynamic protection.
Aside from repair and modernisation of T-64 and T-72 MBTs, LBWZ manufactures and repairs other vehicles such as GPM-72 and GPM-54 armoured firefighting tanks and the Dozor-B tactical armoured wheeled vehicle.
