Kosovo receives Bastions

AM General on 22 April announced the delivery of three Bastion 4x4 armoured personnel carriers (APCs) to the Kosovo Ministry of Interior (MOI) for use by police special forces.
This marks the first completed order under a partnership agreement between AM General and Bastion manufacturer Arquus.
The Bastion APC weighs 12t a monocoque V-shaped hull provides NATO STANAG 4569 Level 2 ballistic protection and Level 2a/2B mine/IED blast protection, according to Shephard Defence Insight.
AM General stated that it recognised ‘the strategic value that a vehicle like Bastion can have on the region and facilitated the sale of the vehicle to the Kosovo MOI’.
The US manufacturer added that it has also delivered almost 200 High-Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicles (HMMWVs) to Kosovo over the last three years 'in support of the country's security efforts’.
