Jordan receives more Marder vehicles from Germany
A batch of refurbished ex-German Army Marder infantry fighting vehicles (IFV) have been delivered to the Jordanian armed forces.
Deliveries of 25 modernised Marder 1A3 IFVs was completed on 1 March, according to Rheinmetall, the company responsible for upgrading the vehicles.
Awarded as part of a German military assistance programme in December 2017, the contract for the vehicles, worth €17 million, included spare parts, ammunition, special tools, documentation, customer support on location as well as training for operators and maintenance personnel.
The vehicles have also been painted in a desert scheme for their new environment.
