Eurosatory: GDELS names IFV Piranha 3+
An updated variant of the Piranha APC known as the 3+ is being displayed by General Dynamics European Land Systems (GDELS) at Eurosatory.
With an increased GVW of 25-27t the 3+ is heavier than the standard 22t Piranha 3. The new version also has a payload of 11t compared to 9.2t and also has a more powerful CAT C13 engine and ZF7HP02S Plus transmission offering 520hp over the Piranha 3’s 400hp – 30% more power.
The Piranha 3+ has 10% extra internal volume and a crew of three with space for nine dismounts and is fitted with an M151 Protector
