Ecuador accepts ATMID delivery from Schiebel
Schiebel has delivered 35 All Terrain Mine Detector (ATMID) units to the Ecuador Ministry of National Defence, the company announced on 18 January.
Schiebel received the contract for the ATMID system in September 2017. The units were delivered to the Ecuadorian land forces in December.
The ATMID features continuous wave detection and leverages the design of the AN-19/2 mine detector. The system can detect low-metal-content mines in all categories of soils - even in areas with severe laterite conditions and with a high content of iron or aluminum oxides.
