Dutch Boxer throws first punch
The Dutch Army’s 13th Light Brigade conducted its first live firings from the Boxer armoured vehicle in March.
The brigade’s 42 Battalion Limburgse Jagers (Limburg Light Infantry) fired .50-caliber ammunition from the Kongsberg Protector M151 remote weapon station mounted on a Boxer vehicle in the Bergen-Hohne exercise area in northern Germany.
The weapon station allows the operator to fire the machine gun using a joy stick viewing the target on a screen under armour with the crew inside the vehicle. This is similar to how firing is conducted from the battalion’s CV90 tracked armoured infantry fighting vehicles that are being
